CIPET renamed as Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology
- The Central Govt has changed name from Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) to Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET). Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri DV Sadananda Gowda shared this information among public.
- Under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975, the process of changing name was held.
- In addition, CIPET will provide its support for growth of the entire petrochemical sector with a keeping focus on Academics, Skilling, Technology Supports and Research.
- The major objective of the Institute is to give its contribution towards the growth of the plastics industry via a combined programme of education and research.
