Senior Railway Official Anil Kumar Lahoti has been elected as the next Railway Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and will assume the charge from January 1, 2023. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the appointment of Lahoti. At present, he is serving as a member (infrastructure) of the Railway Board. Incumbent Railway Board Chairman and CEO V K Tripathi will be retiring on December 31st, 2022.
- Lahoti is a member of the Indian Railways Services of Engineer’s batch of 1984.
- He also served as the general manager of Western Railways.
- He served earlier in different positions in the Nagpur, Jabalpur, and Bhusaval divisions of the Indian Railway.
