A MoU between CBDT and SEBI
- The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in order to exchange data between the two organizations. Smt. Anu J. Singh, Pr. DGIT (Systems) from CBDT and Shri Mati Madhabi Puri Buch, all Time Members from SEBI organization, were present during signing MoU through video conference.
Important Points –
- MoU will be as beginning of cooperation and synergy between SEBI and CBDT organizations.
- An MoU will enable data sharing and information sharing among organizations on an automatic & regular basis.
- organizations will share Data on request and suo moto basis. the main purpose of exchanging data is to carry out their functions under various laws by organizations.
- MoU will come into effect from 9th July 2020. along with it, it is considered as an initiative of CBDT and SEBI, prior to this, they were collaborating through various existing mechanisms.
