Rakesh Asthana as DG of BSF
- The centre has decided to designated Rakesh Asthana as the new director-general of the Border Security Force (BSF). at present, DG Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) chief S S Deswal Asthana is serving as an additional charge of BSF from March month.
- At present, Rakesh Asthana is serving as the head of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). he is going to take charge as DG and will see border guarding force deployment. India is connected with Pakistan for 2,280 km long border.
Who is Rakesh Asthana?
- Rakesh Asthana was born in 1961. he is an IPS officer of 1984 batch from Gujarat cadre. prior to this, he has served as the Special Director at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
