Satya Pal Malik as Meghalaya Governor –
- On 18th August 2020, The Governor of Goa state Shri Satya Pal Malik has been selected as the new Governor of Meghalaya. the announcement of his appointment was stated by Rashtrapati Bhavan. Apart from this, Bhagat Singh Koshyari who is a Governor of Maharashtra state has been provided additional charge of Goa.
- Prior to this, Malik was serving as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. later, the Indian Govt ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Malik is going to take place of Tathagata Roy in Meghalaya.
Who is Satya Pal Malik ?
- Satya Pal Malik was born on 24th July 1946. he was chosen as 18th Governor of Goa. President Ram Nath Kovind appointed him as Goa Governor on 25th October 2019. he served as Governor of Jammu and Kashmir between August 2018 and October 2019. later, the Centre took the decision to cancel Article 370. Article 370 used to give a special status to Jammu & Kashmir state.
