The day of 21st August is commemorated as World Senior Citizen Day in order to create awareness about issues affecting older people. it also reminds us to support, honour and show appreciation to seniors and to recognize their achievements.
On 14th December 1990, it was declared by the United Nations General Assembly.
The Ex-President of the United States of America, Ronald Reagan established this day in 1988 to pay support and honours to older adults and support in their issues.
