Village in Anantnag gets electricity for first time in 75 years

Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag gets electricity connection for the first time after almost 75 years of Independence. Under the PM Development Package scheme, Electricity in Tethan in the Dooru block of Anantnag was provided.

PM Development Package scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an Rs 80,000 crore development package for Jammu and Kashmir in 2015. as follows:

  • Flood relief, reconstruction, and flood management – Rs 7854 crore
  • Road and highway projects – Rs 42611 crore
  • Power, New and Renewable Energy – Rs 11708 crore
  • Health – Rs 4900 crore
  • Human Resource Development, Skill Development, and sports – Rs 2600 crore
  • Agriculture and Food Processing – Rs 529 crore
  • Tourism –Rs 2241 crore
  • Urban Development – Rs 2312 crore
  • Security and Welfare of displaced people – Rs 5263 crore
  • Pashmina Promotion Project – Rs 50 crore
