Turkish Republic’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

The Turkish Republic observed its 100th anniversary to highlight a century since its establishment as a modern, secular state following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. The celebration was held with a fireworks and drone show in Istanbul and a procession of 100 naval ships. However, there was no grand gala reception.

The day was influenced by recent events, including a devastating earthquake that took 50,000 lives and the Israeli-Hamas conflict that led to restlessness in the Middle East.
