Eligibility Criteria
Follow the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the program.
- Must be an enrolled member of a federally or state-recognized Tribe.
- Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be afull-time student enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college, or a senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended.
- Must have or intend to declare a major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
- Must not have been previously awarded a BC scholarship.
Application Process
Here’s, what you must provide besides your application.
- An essay of 250 words minimum, “A foot in both worlds and how I can bridge them with engineering.”
- Two written recommendations, with at least one from a high school or university official (e.g. advisor, professor).
- An official transcript of your academic record.
- A resume (including previous work experience)
- Proof of Tribal enrollment such as a Certificate Degree of Indian Blood copy, Tribal membership card, OR a letter of enrollment/descendancy from the Tribal enrollment office.
- Evidence of a declared major.

Selection Process

Applicants will be selected based on their work experience, service to the community, passion for environmental studies, and academics. It is required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
