Parshottam Rupala inaugurates ‘Sagar Parikrama’ initiative from Gujarat

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala will inaugurate the ‘Sagar Parikrama’. Sagar Parikrama’ was organised by the Union Ministry for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’.

  • The ‘Sagar Parikrama’ will focus on the sustainable balance between the utilization of marine fisheries resources for food security of nation and livelihoods of coastal fisher communities and protection of marine ecosystems.
  • It is started in Gujarat and is to be conducted in all coastal states/UTs through a pre-decided sea route to demonstrate solidarity with all fisher folk, fish farmers and concerned stakeholders as a spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

IAF postpones Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has postponed Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022. the Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022 was to be held in the Pokhran range of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on March 7th, 2022.

  • Exercise Vayu Shakti is conducted at Pokharan range every three years to demonstrate its readiness to conduct full spectrum operations.
  • Recently, the Defence Ministry postponed Defexpo 2022 due to logistical issues with participants.

Indian Navy successfully test fires advanced version of BrahMos missile

On 5th March 2022, The Indian Navy successfully test-fired a long-range version of the BrahMos cruise missile.

  • In November 2020, a land-attack version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was tested from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
