India-led ASEAN Conference on Traditional Medicines

The ASEAN Conference on Traditional Medicines was started in New Delhi on July 20th, 2023, under the leadership of India. India-led ASEAN Conference on Traditional Medicines aims to share best practices between India and ASEAN member countries. It also will develop a roadmap for their future cooperation in the field of traditional medicine.

President Murmu to inaugurate the two-day Library Festival 2023 in New Delhi

The Union Ministry of Culture and the Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to revive and preserve the 2000-year-old ancient technology of shipbuilding called stitching (Tankai method).

Universal Postal Union (UPU) Regional Office opened in New Delhi

Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Postal Union (DG UPU) Mr. Masahiko Metoki and Union Minister of Communications Shri  Devusinh Chauhan inaugurated the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Regional Office was opened in New Delhi on 19th July 2023. The office will help in speeding up the technical assistance activities of the UPU in the South Asian region.

3rd meeting of the Indo-Russian Commission on Military Cooperation

The 3rd General Meeting of the “Working Group on Military Co-Operation” 2023 of the Intergovernmental Commission on Military and Related Technical Cooperation of India and Russia was conducted in India’s capital New Delhi. the meeting was conducted between July 18 to 19 at the Maneksha Center in New Delhi. 

  • It aims to expand the security engagements between the two sides and further strengthen new initiatives under the bilateral security cooperation mechanism.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will inaugurate the two-day National Conference of “Rural WASH Partners” forum on July 21st, 2023 (Today) at  Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme will be “Accelerating and Enhancing Progress towards Swachh Sujal Bharat”.

Gujarat to launch country’s first ‘satellite network website’

OneWeb and the Gujarat state government signed an MoU in order to set up a “satellite network Portal” near Mehsana in its capital Gandhinagar. With this, Gujarat becomes India’s first state to get “satellite network Potal”.

  • “satellite network Portal” has been developed under Digital India and it will help in offering secure and high-speed Internet access to local bodies, villages, district panchayats, and government departments across the country.

The Union Government appointed Sat Pal Bhanoo as the Managing Director of the Life Insurance Corporation(LIC) of India on July 19, 2023, and will hold this post till December 31, 2025, succeeding Siddhartha Mohanty, who was appointed as the chairman of LIC in April.

British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden presented the award to her as “The World’s Youngest Sustainability Lawyer”.

India get Silver medal in mixed team skeet in ISSF World Junior Championships

Team India received a silver medal in the Shooting event on Day 4 of the ISSF Youth World Championships in Changwon, Korea on July 19th, 2023. India finished 2nd in the medal table. The Indian pair of Sanjana Sood and Harmehar Singh Lally received the silver medal in the mixed team skeet category with a score of 26-24.
