Three-day annual Torgya Festival celebrated in Arunachal Pradesh – In Arunachal Pradesh, The Monpa tribal group of Arunachal Pradesh celebrates a three-day Torgya Festival.
- Torgya Festival is also known as Tawang-Torgya and is an annual event which is held solely in Tawang Monastery in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.
- As per the Buddhist calendar, the Monpa celebration is observed on the day of the 28th and 30th of Dawachukchipa.
- The main purpose of this festival is to welcome a healthy and prosperous new year.
- It also marks to ward off any kind of external aggression and protect people from natural disasters.
