The Esperanza Education Fund offers scholarships to students from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC who are immigrants or the children of immigrants. Esperanza chooses approximately 10 scholarship recipients from a pool of 300+ applications each academic year.

Eligibility Criteria
Follow the Eligibility Criteria to apply for the program.
Must have been born outside the U.S. OR have two parents who were born outside the U.S.
Must be a graduating senior at a high school in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia OR have earned a GED within the last four years and reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia
Must be looking to enroll full-time in an accredited, public two-year community college or four-year university in the US for the academic year
Must have a household income of less than $100,000

Applications will be selected based on three criteria: the distance traveled, which refers to how much a student has achieved and overcome before and since their arrival in the United States, academic performance demonstrated by GPA and test scores, and extracurricular involvements.
