Interesting Facts About Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, marked with the Makar Sankranti festival. His pre-monastic name was Narendranath Datta. He established two magazines Prabuddha Bharata in English and Udbodhan in Bengali. Swami Vivekananda traveled across India for five years between 1888 and 1893. He established the Vedanta Society of New York in November 1894.

He established Ramakrishna Mission, a philanthropic foundation on May 1, 1897.
In 1879, he was the only student to get first-division marks in the Presidency College entrance examination. Swami Vivekananda foresaw his death as he mentioned that he would not live more than 40 years. At the age of 39 years, He died unexpectedly. The cause of death is considered to be a rupture of a blood vessel in his brain.
