Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation Scholarships 2024

The Susan T. Buffett Foundation offers scholarships on a competitive basis to first-time freshmen entering college who live in Nebraska, graduate from a Nebraska high school (or GED) with plans to attend a Nebraska public college, and demonstrate financial need. It includes an award ranging between $200–$5,500.

Eligibility Criteria

Follow the requirements for applying for the Program:

• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $10,000.
• Must submit a Student Aid Report (SAR), a high school transcript, and a recommendation letter.
• The EFC can be obtained from the SAR.
• The award money will be disbursed by the Financial Aid Office at the beginning of each term.

Application Process

To apply for the program, you will have to submit your application.

• Application forms
• One recommendation
• FAFSA Submission Summary (previously called Student Aid Report)
• High school transcript
• Consent form

Short Answers- respond to the prompts using 150-350 words:

• Tell us about yourself.  In your response, include important things you would want us to know about you and discuss a meaningful time/experience in your life that has shaped who you are.
• Tell us about your academic experiences in high school.  In your response, include how you think these experiences have or have not prepared you for college.
• In what ways would receiving this scholarship impact your life?  In your response, please think about your life now, during college, and/or future after college.
