SC introduces Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records system
Supreme Court of India (SC) has introduced an electronic system called FASTER, which will be helpful for transferring e-authenticated copies from courts to prisons. FASTER stands for Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records.
- FASTER System will help in ensuring that undertrials are not made to wait for days on end behind bars to be released because the certified hard copies of their bail orders were late to reach the prison.
- Also, it will play a role in preventing unnecessary arrests and custody of people even after the court has already granted them its protection.
