Samudra Shakti maritime exercise 2021: India and Indonesia join in Sunda Strait

On 20th September 2021, The 3rd edition of the bilateral maritime exercise ‘Samudra Shakti’ has been started off between India and Indonesia in the Sunda Strait, in Indonesia. The Samudra Shakti exercise will run for three days, will culminate on September 22nd, 2021 (Wednesday).

  • From the Indian Side, two frontline warships Shivalik and Kadmatt, long-range maritime reconnaissance aircraft P8I have joined the exercise.
  • The main purpose of the ‘Samudra Shakti’ exercise is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between two navies.
  • It will also enhance mutual understanding and interoperability in maritime operations as well.
