PAN-Aadhaar Linking Deadline Extended till 30th September
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has taken a decision to extend the deadline for the mandatory linking of the Permanent Account Number (PAN) with the Aadhaar number due to the 2nd wave of COVID-19. now, the new deadline is September 30, 2021. prior to this, CBDT announced the deadline was June 30th, 2021.
- The extension will help in providing relief to those who still have not linked their PAN with Aadhaar due to a mismatch in details.
Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act 1961:
- every one with PAN as on July 1, 2017 and is eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must link PAN with Aadhaar.
