National Voters Day 2024: History, Significance, Theme – Every year, National Voters’ Day is observed on 25 January to encourage, facilitate, and maximize enrolment, especially for new voters in the country. the first National Voters’ Day was observed on January 25, 2011.
- This day also marks the foundation of the Election Commission of India, i.e. 25th January 1950.
- In 2023, India is celebrating the 13th National Voters’ Day (NVD).
- The day aims to create electoral awareness amongst citizens and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.

- On 25th January, the Election Commission of India (ECI) came into existence in 1950. it was the first time when India celebrated National Voters’ Day in 2011, aiming to encourage young voters to take part in the electoral process.

13th National Voters’ Day (NVD)
- The Election Commission of India celebrates the 13th National Voters’ Day on 25th January 2023. Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu will be the Chief Guest at the national function being held in New Delhi by the Election Commission of India. Union Minister for Law and Justice, Shri Kiren Rijiju will grace the function as Guest of Honour.
- The theme for 2023’s NVD, ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure’ and aimed at dedicating to voters which conveys individual feelings and aspirations towards participation in the electoral process through the power of their vote.
13th National Voters’ Day (NVD) – Logo
- The logo has been designed to showcase the festivity and inclusivity of the electoral process.
- Ashoka Chakra in the background symbolises the largest democracy in the world, whereas the inked finger symbolises the participation of each and every voter of the country.
- The tick mark in the logo stands for informed decision-making by the voter.
- An ECI song- “Main Bharat Hoon- Hum Bharat Ke Matdata Hain” produced by ECI in association with Subhash Ghai Foundation, will also be screened.
