National Security Day 2022: Purpose, History, Theme – Every year, National Security Day is observed on 4th March in India. this day is also known as Rashtriya Suraksha Diwas and is celebrated to honour National Security Day.

• The main purpose of this day is to show gratitude to our security forces which include military, para-military, commandos, police officials, guards, and India’s security forces and to those who maintain peace and security of our country.
• This day also promotes and increases security forces.
• it also reminds the citizens about their fundamental duties towards the country.
• The day of 4th March marks the day when the National Safety Council of India was established in 1966. in 1972, National Security Day was celebrated for the first time.

About National Safety Council of India

• Ajit Kumar Doval is serving as the National Security Advisor (NSA) of the country. he is the Chief Executive of NSC and Primary Advisor to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
• Intelligent agencies such as Research Analysis Wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) report to NSA.
