National Broadcasting Day 2021: History and Significance
National Broadcasting Day is observed on July 23rd every year in India. on this day, the Indian Broadcasting Company (IBC) started organizing radio broadcasting from Bombay station in the year 1927.
- In 1930, British Government took over radio broadcasting and began the Indian State Broadcasting Service (ISBS).
- IBC was a private entity which was given permission by the British Government to operate two radio stations in Kolkata (Calcutta) and Mumbai (Bombay).
