Every year, National Archives Day is celebrated on October 21. The National Archives of the Philippines is known as the country’s official repository for public documents and archives, where such documents are kept, conserved, and made available to the general public for research and study. Former President Fidel V. Ramos proclaimed this day to mark the important role that archives play in a variety of national development initiatives. The day aims to honour archivists for preserving the archives.
