In Norway, Mother’s Day, or Morsdag is observed on the second Sunday in February and this year, it will be held on February 11. The day aims to honor mothers and mother figures. The holiday, known as ‘Morsdag’ by locals, has been celebrated for over 100 years in the country.

Mother’s Day is one of the most popular holidays around the world and is celebrated in more than 50 countries across the world. However, Mother’s Day is not observed as a public holiday in the United States, it’s a legal national holiday that takes place on the second Sunday in May. Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, and Turkey observe Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May. Mexico and some other countries in Latin America observe Mother’s Day annually on May 10. In Thailand, Mother’s Day is held on August 12, which is the birthday of the current Queen.
