Maharashtra and West Bengal invite Elon Musk to set up Tesla’s plant – Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao has announced to invite Tesla CEO Elon Musk to set up a Tesla plant in India. after the Telangana state, two more states, Maharashtra and West Bengal have also invited Musk in their respective states to launch his EV maker in India.
Tesla’s plant in Maharashtra
- Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil has asked Musk to set up manufacturing in the state for electric cars. he has said in his tweet –
- “Maharashtra is one of the most progressive states in India. We will provide you with all the necessary help from Maharashtra for you to get established in India. “We invite you to establish your manufacturing plant in Maharashtra.”
Tesla facing ‘lots of challenges with the government’
- Tesla wants to sell imported cars in India and govt is charging the highest in the world. Indin is levying a 100% tax on imported cars of a price over $40,000 (Rs 30 lakh) inclusive of insurance and shipping expenses, and cars less than $40,000 are subject to 60% import tax.
