The Kyrgyzstan National Hat Day is observed every year on 5 March in Kyrgyzstan. In 2011, the day was an initiative introduced by filmmaker Yrysbek Jabirov. The ak-kalpak is a Kyrgyzstan cap and defines the Kyrgyz from other local ethnic groups while also advocating inclusivity. Since 2017, March 5 has been remembered as National Ak-kalpak Day.
