International Snow Leopard Day 2020
The day of 23rd October is observed as International Snow Leopard Day every year. the main purpose of this day is to create awareness to protect and preserve the Snow Leopards on the earth.’
Background:
- In 2014, This day was first time observed, before it, The Bishkek was declared on the conservation of the snow leopards during the 1st Global Snow Leopard Forum in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan in the year 2013.
Snow Leopard Conservation centre:
- Uttarakhand govt is going to develop India’s first Snow Leopard Conservation centre with the help of Uttarakhand forest department and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
