Indian GM S L Narayanan won Grandiscacchi Cattolica International Open Chess Tournament – Indian Grandmaster S L Narayanan has become the winner of the Grandiscacchi Cattolica International Open on 8th March 2022, defeating compatriot R Praggnanandhaa.
- Narayanan and six others finished equal first on 6.5 points after nine rounds.
- Narayanan was at the top based on a better tie-break score.
- Hw won against Italian Alex Dobboletta, compatriot Akshat Khamparia, Jobaova Baadur (Georgia) and Belarusian Sergei Azarov and played his drawn game against Praggnanandhaa.
- He has earned the title of Grandmaster in 2015 and is the 41st Grandmaster from India.
