Indian-American city commissioner Usha Reddi took oath as a senator in the US state of Kansas, she replaced current Manhattan Senator Tom Hawk. Usha Reddi served on the Manhattan City Commission since 2013 and was designated by Democratic precinct leaders in Riley, Geary and Clay counties.
- She was first appointed to the Manhattan City Commission for a four-year term in April 2013 and re-elected in 2017 and 2021.
- She also served as Mayor in 2016-2017 and in 2020.
- He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology from Ohio State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University.
- In 2020, He was honoured with the Elected Women of Excellence Award from the National Foundation of Women Legislators.
