Every year, people celebrate Humiliation Day on January 3. The day aims to humiliate one another or spread hatred. It also relinquishes our pride and become humble before a higher power or other people.
History
On July 20, 1775, Congress released a proclamation recommending the observance of a day of fasting, and public humiliation. After that, General George Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army called for a day of fasting, humiliation, and prayer for his soldiers on May 6, 1779. on March 23, 1798, U.S. President John Adams called the tradition.
