HumanLight is celebrated on December 23 every year. The human importance of compassion, reason, hope, and humanity is marked and described on this holiday. The holiday aims to honour humanity and to promote a world where only peace and positivity prevail. The day was founded by leaders of the “New Jersey Humanist Network” in 2001, aimed at empowering secular people in celebrating the December holiday season.
HumanLight – History
The first public celebration took place in December 2001 in Verona, New Jersey under the leadership of Dr. Paul Kurtz. Various secular, humanist, and atheist organizations and individuals adopted HumanLight as a part of their December traditions.
