Higher quota for SC/ST in educational institutes in Karnataka, Bill passed – The Karnataka Assembly unanimously approved a Bill that aims to increase the percentage of SC/ST people with access to state government jobs and educational institutions. The New Bill includes the quotas for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to be raised from 3 to 7% and 15 to 17%, respectively.
