Selection Process
Truman Scholars will be selected through a two-step procedure. First, the members of a finalists selection committee will review all applications and look out for a student’s leadership record, academic performance, ability to write and analyze situations clearly, and involvement with their communities and government establishments. Second, regional review panels will choose the scholars based on three aspects: their leadership and communication abilities, their intellectual and analytical capabilities, and their likelihood of having an impact in public service.
