Govt launches a new Instant Messaging platform Sandes
The National Informatics Centre launches an instant messaging platform named Sandes. it will be like WhatsApp.
- Sandes platform will be used for all kinds of communications by anyone with a mobile number or email id.
- this initiative will help in pushing for use of India-made software and to make an ecosystem of indigenously developed products.
- The 1st version of the application was launched by NIC in August 2020 for both central and state government officials “for intra and inter-organisation communication.”
Sandes Instant Messaging platform Features
- The app doesn’t provide options to transfer the chat history between two platforms.
- the app contains group making, broadcasting messages or forwarding emojis features.
- it alerts users when the messages would not be shared with others.
