The Golden Globe Award is one of the major Hollywood awards for the entertainment industry which takes place in January to recognize brilliance in both American and international film and television. In 2024, it will fall on January 7. Actors, directors, cast, and crew have competed for this golden statuette and prestige.
History
A group of Los Angeles-based foreign journalists introduced the idea for the Golden Globes, aimed at helping the distribution of cinema to non-U.S. markets. They established the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association in 1943.
In 1944, the first Golden Globe awards were held at the 20th Century Fox studios.
