GoI named Bharat Lal as new DG of National Centre for Good Governance– Bharat Lal has been appointed as the Director General, National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) by the Govt of India. Bharat Lal is a Retired 1988-batch Indian Forest officer of the Gujarat cadre.
- He served as the Gujarat government’s resident commissioner in Delhi.
- He is known to be close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the then chief minister of the state.
- Earlier, Lal was appointed as the Secretary to the Lokpal in December 2021.
National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG):
- It is an autonomous institute and its head office is located in New Delhi and the branch office is at Mussoorie.
- National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) aims to assist in bringing about governance reforms through studies, training, knowledge sharing and promotion of good ideas.
