Fumio Kishida re-elected as Japan’s Prime Minister

Fumio Kishida has been appointed as the New Prime Minister (PM) of Japan. Fumio Kishida is the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and has won the 2021 Parliament election.

• Fumio Kishida will take place of Yoshihide Suga who resigned as PM of Japan in September 2021.
• Kishida’s party secured 261 seats in the 465-member lower house in the quick election.
