Flood warning system iFLOWS
- The Mumbai CM Uddhav Thackeray started off a State of the art flood warning system “iFLOWS” with Union Earth Sciences Minister Harsh Vardhan. I-FLOWS has seven modules they are : Data Assimilation, Flood, Inundation, Vulnerability, Risk, Dissemination Module and Decision Support System.
How will iFLOWS be useful ?
- iFLOWS system will be able to predict floods three days before they happen. therefore, state govt may take actions before flood. after begining of system, mumbai city will be more resilient. it will give early signs of the forthcoming danger during heavy rainfall and cyclone events.
