First Arab female astronaut reaches space station – Rayyanah Barnawi is one of two Saudis on Axiom Space’s second private mission, which carried off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the US on 21st May 2023.
Saudi Arabia’s First Lady Rayyanah Barnawi travelled to the International Space Station (ISS) along with Saudi Ali Alqarni, US Commander Peggy Whitson and pilot John Shoffner. A Falcon-9 rocket carrying a Dragon spacecraft lifts off from NASA’s Launch Complex 39A.
