Amazon and Gujarat Govt signed an MoU to boost e-commerce exports.
Om August 8th, 2023, Amazon India signed an MoU with the Department of Industries and Mines, Government of Gujarat, aimed at boosting e-commerce exports from the state of Gujarat. The deal will create and promote training, and capacity-building workshops for exporters from major MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) organizations such as Surat, Baruch, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Rajkot.
Inter-Services Organization (Command and Discipline) Bill – 2023
On August 8th, 2023, The Rajya Sabha passed the Inter-Services Organizations(Control, Command, and Discipline) Bill – 2023 in Parliament. the bill has already been passed in the Lok Sabha recently. The bill aims to empower authorities to exercise mainly disciplinary and administrative control over public and private service agencies.
Bhartiya Vastra evam Shilpa Kosh Portal
PM Modi launched the website (e-portal) called ‘Bhartiya Vastra Evam Shilpa Kosh – A Repository of Textiles and Handicrafts’, has been developed by the National Institute while presiding over the 9th National Handloom Day celebrations at the Bharat Mandap at the grand Pragati Maidan in the national capital, New Delhi.
- Bhartiya Vastra Evam Shilpa Kosh Portal aims to help entrepreneurs who need research papers, doctoral theses, case studies, and dissertations related to textiles and handicrafts.

Gujarat is implementing the scheme “One District One Product (ODOP)”
On August 7th, 2023, The Gujarat Government launched the scheme named “One District One Product (ODOP)” with a grant estimate of Rs 58 crores to promote its domestic products internationally. The scheme is being implemented by Gujarat State Handicrafts and Its Development Corporation (GSHHDC).
- More than 25 “Handicrafts” and related sectors, were selected under this scheme from nearly 21 districts of the state.
Bharatrohan & Smart Village partnered to help ginger farmers in Meghalaya
Bharatrohan, a pioneer in agricultural (agri-tech) drone services and the Smart Village movement signed an MoU to help ginger farmers in the state of Meghalaya. The MoU will help in revolutionizing Meghalaya’s ginger farming by completely lowering crop losses and improving their incomes and livelihoods.
Haryana to build a dam at an estimated cost of Rs 6,134 crore
The Haryana state government will build a 14-km long dam at an estimated cost of Rs 6,134 crore nearly 4.5 km upstream from the Hathnikund barrage in Yamunanagar district. It will also generate around 250 MW of electricity, thereby making opportunities for irrigation water and aquaculture to generate large amounts of income for the state.
