Pariksha Pe Charcha 2023

The Ministry of Education announced that the 6th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) will be held on January 27th, 2023. in 2023, PPC will be held in a town hall format at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

1st All India Annual State Ministers Conference On Water To Deliberate Water Vision@2047

Ministry of Jal Shakti is conducting the “1st All India Annual State Ministers Conference on Water’’ with the theme “Water Vision@2047” in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 5th & 6th January 2023. The 1st All India Annual State Ministers Conference On Water aims to gather inputs for the India@2047 and 5P vision from the different water stakeholders of the states, water being a state subject.

  • It also aims to improve engagement and partnership with the states and to share the initiatives and schemes of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

The Conference will have 5 thematic sessions

  • Water Security in Water Deficit, Water Surplus and Hilly Regions;
  • Water Use Efficiency including Reuse of Waste Water/ Grey Water;
  • Water Governance;
  • Climate Change Resilient Water Infrastructure, and
  • Water Quality.

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ flagship program, Fit India Movement to start special online series titled ‘Fit India-Sunday Talks’

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ flagship program, Fit India Movement will begin a special online series titled ‘Fit India-Sunday Talks’ from this Sunday till the 26th of next month. Eminent fitness experts and Fit India icons will join this online talk show and the show will be aired on the official Instagram and YouTube handles of Fit India, every Sunday at 11 am.

  • Fit India Sunday Talks aims to promote the importance of fitness, healthy eating, and mental wellness among all age groups, especially senior citizens.
  • The Fit India Healthy Hindustan panelists will include Luke Coutinho (Lifestyle Expert), Ryan Fernando, Heena Bhimani (Nutritionist) and Sangram Singh (Wrestler/Motivational Speaker).

Narayan Rane inaugurates virtually Intelligent Tray Retrieval System (ITRS)

Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane inaugurated the virtual Intelligent Tray Retrieval System (ITRS). Intelligent Tray Retrieval System (ITRS) is an Artificial Intelligence-based fully automatic machine, aimed at helping to offer enhanced passenger security with advanced screening technology.

  • It is equipped with image analysis software with advanced tools.
  • The ITRS machine will give passengers a unique travel experience during the hand baggage screening at the airport.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district administration launches e-library

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Doda district administration launched an e-library @www.adbhutdoda.org/elibrary, aimed at providing notes and study material prepared by the best subject matter specialists in the district to students. e-library will enable the students to use the study material prepared not only for the examination in the month of March/April but to clear their doubts/concepts when schools reopen after winter vacations.

  • Students can read, download and get the notes printed from the website @www.adbhutdoda.org/elibrary.
  • The e-library will be upgraded further and in due course of time notes for class 9th onwards will be made available for the students.

Union Minister inaugurates 29 Mobile Veterinary Units in Thiruvananthapuram

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala will inaugurate 29 mobile veterinary units and a centralised call centre in Thiruvananthapuram for the benefit of the livestock farmers in Kerala. These mobile veterinary units (MVUs) will be operated through the centralised call centre with a uniform helpline number, 1962, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.

  • MVUs aim to offer diagnosis treatment, vaccination, artificial insemination, minor surgical interventions, audio-visual aids, and extension services to farmers/animal owners at their doorstep in far-flung areas.
  • The department of animal husbandry and dairying (AH&D) is to offer funds to the government in states and union territories (UTs) for MVUs.

  • ‘Livestock Health & Disease Control program’ aims to improve animal health by way of implementation of prophylactic vaccination programs against various diseases of livestock and poultry, capacity building, disease surveillance, and strengthening of veterinary infrastructure.

Madhya Pradesh government will launch Chief Minister’s Residential Land Rights Scheme

On January 4th, 2023, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Madhya Pradesh Residential Land Rights scheme (Mukhyamantri Awasiya Bhu Adhikar Yojana) to distribute free leases of residential land to selected beneficiaries.

  • Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also gave land rights letters to the eligible beneficiaries of this scheme.
  • The plots worth about 129 crore rupees were distributed to 10,918 families in the Tikamgarh district under the scheme.
  • The scheme aims to provide free plots to the poor living in rural areas for building their houses.
  • The land will be offered completely free of cost and along with the plot, the benefits of all other schemes will also be delivered.

An MoU signed between Hindustan Copper Limited and the Indian Institute of Technology

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Hindustan Copper Limited and the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, at the HCL Corporate Office in Kolkata for collaborative and sponsored research projects. The MoU aims to address HCL’s need for technical assistance, guidance and consultancy work from IIT-ISM for enhancing copper ore production.

  • It is a momentous occasion for HCL the first technical collaboration with IIT (ISM), Dhanbad.
  • It is the only copper miner in India, owning all the operating mining leases of copper ore in the nation.

Indian-American Juli A. Mathew appointed as a judge in U.S. court

An Indian-American from Thiruvalla, Juli A. Mathew, was elected as a judge of the Fort Bend County Court at Law No 3 in the United States for the 2nd consecutive time. Juli A. Mathew was the Associate Municipal Judge in Arcola, Texas, and a practicing attorney for 15 years with experience in mass tort, civil litigation, probate, and criminal matters in Fort Bend and surrounding counties.

  • She completed high school in Philadelphia and attended Penn State University.
  • She also studied at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

Apollo 7 mission astronaut Walter Cunningham Died at 90

The last surviving astronaut from the first successful crewed space mission in NASA’s Apollo program Walter Cunningham passed away at the age of 90 in Houston. NASA confirmed Cunningham’s died in a hospital “from complications of a fall, after a full and complete life.

  • Cunningham crewed the mission with Navy Capt. Walter M. Schirra and Donn F. Eisele, an Air Force major.
  • Cunningham was the lunar module pilot on the space flight, which was launched from Cape Kennedy Air Force Station, Florida, on October 11 and splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean south of Bermuda.
  • Cunningham was “above all” an explorer whose work also laid the foundation for the agency’s new Artemis moon program. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said
  • The Apollo 7 astronauts also won a special Emmy award for their daily television reports from orbit.

  • Cunningham was born in Creston, Iowa.
  • He served as Marine Corps.
  • He completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
