Jal Jeevan Mission Achieves 60% Coverage Milestone

Under the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ mission, 60% of rural households have access to clean drinking water through taps. over 11.66 crore households and 58 crore people have access to clean drinking water through this water connection. As per the report the 5 states of Gujarat, Telangana, Goa, Haryana, and Punjab and 3 Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman Diu Dadra Nagar Haveli and Puducherry have 100% coverage.

Ministry of Civil Aviation disbursed about Rs 30 crores during FY 2022-23 under PLI Scheme for Drones and Drone Components

The Ministry of Civil Aviation disbursed an amount of Rs. 30 crores (approximately) to the beneficiaries during FY 2022-23 under the PLI Scheme for Drones and Drone Components. centre notified the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for drones and drone components for promoting the indigenous drone industry.

Amendment to section 10(26AAA) of the Income-tax Act, 1961 by the Finance Act, 2023

Following the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s decision in Writ Petition (C) No. 59/2013 with 1283/2021, certain amendments have been made in clause (26AAA) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 by the Finance Act, 2023.

  • For the purposes of removal of doubts, it is hereby clarified that the term “Sikkimese” defined for the purposes of the said clause, is only for the purposes of the Income-tax Act, 1961, and not for any other purpose.

Banarasi Paan, Langda Mango, 2 Oher Products Awarded Geographical Indication Tag

Banarasi paan and langda mango of Varanasi are finally awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag which signifies that products from a specific geographical location possess qualities that are due to that origin. Banarasi paan and langda mango Ramnagar Bhanta (Brinjal) and Adamchini Rice have also been awarded the GI tag. Earlier, 18 products from Kashi and the Purvanchal region carried GI tags.

  • Banaras Brocade and Sarees, Handmade Bhadohi Carpets, Mirzapur Handmade Carpets, Banaras Metal Reposi Craft, Varanasi Gulabi Meenakari, Varanasi Wooden lacquerware and Toys, Nizamabad Black Patri, Banaras Glass Beads, Varanasi Softstone Jaali Work, Ghazipur Wall Hangig, Chunar Sandstone, Chunar Glaze Patari, Gorakhpur Terracotta Craft, Banaras Zardozi, Banaras Hand Block Print, Banaras Wood Carving, Mirzapur Brass Utensils and Mau Saree products were earlier awarded GI tags.

Karnataka at the top in delivery of justice among 18 large states: India Justice Report

Karnataka has topped the 18 large and mid-sized Indian states, with a population of over one crore each, in justice delivery -police, judiciary, prisons, and legal aid – in the country, as per the India Justice Report (IJR) 2022. As per the India Justice Report (IJR) 2022, Karnataka is at the top followed by Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is at rank 18 which is the lowest.

Art Collector Kiran Nadar Conferred With France’s Highest Civilian Award

Philanthropist and art collector Kiran Nadar has been conferred “Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur” (Knight of the Legion of Honour) by French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain. Ms Nadar, chairperson of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) — a philanthropic initiative in art — and a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation role in advancing Indo-French cultural ties, and artistic cooperation.
