MoD signs contract with BEL for 13 Lynx-U2 fire control systems for Navy

The defence ministry and Bharat Electronics Limited signed a contract for the procurement of 13 Lynx-U2 fire control systems for the Navy at a cost of over Rs 1,700 crore. The Lynx-U2 system can accurately track and engage targets amid sea clutter as well as air or surface targets. It is a naval gun fire control system designed and developed indigenously.

List of Most Powerful Indians 2023 released

Indian Express released the list of the most powerful Indians in 2023. As per List, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tops the list. followed by Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister S Jaishankar, TY Chandrachud and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat holds the 6th position and BJP national president JP Natta holds the 7th position.

UIDAI opens new Grievance Redressal Center in Hyderabad

The Regional Office Hyderabad of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched a new ‘Grievance Redressal Centre’ on Wednesday with a focus on resident centricity and commitment to delivering a better experience to Aadhaar holders. The RO Hyderabad caters to Aadhaar-related services to residents of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Union Home Minister and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the computerization of Uttarakhand State’s Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (MPACS) = Cooperative Agriculture, Jan Suvita Kendras and Janavushati Kendras in Haridwar.

Ajay Singh, the chief of SpiceJet, has been appointed as the new President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM). He replaced Sumant Sinha, who completed his tenure as Managing Director of Renew Power. along with it, Sanjay Nayar, the Founder and Chairman of Sorin Investment Fund, has been appointed as the new Senior Vice-President of ASSOCHAM.

T.S Sivagnanam appointed as the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

The Union Law Ministry notified the appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam as Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court with effect from March 31. Said the official notification “In the exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, is pleased to appoint Justice TS Sivagnanam, senior-most puisne Judge of Calcutta High Court as Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court with effect from March 31, 2023,”

  • Justice Sivagnanam was elected as Additional Judge of Madras High Court on March 31, 2009, and later he was selected Permanent Judge on March 29, 2011.
  • He is the Chairman of the Computer Committee of Madras High Court.
  • He was transferred as a Judge of Calcutta High Court and took oath on October 25, 2021.

Sheikh Mansour appointed as UAE Vice President

The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, appointed Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his brother, as the Vice President of the country. UAE Federal Supreme Council approved his appointment. Sheikh Mansour worked as the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and as the Minister of the Presidential Court.
