PM Modi announces campaign, ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ to honor martyred heroes to be launched soon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign will be launched soon ahead of Independence Day to honor the martyred men and women. Along with it, various programs will be conducted across the country in memory of the martyrs in the midst of the ongoing reverberations of Amrit Mahotsav.

  • Under Meri Mati Mera Desh’s campaign, ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra‘ will be held across the country.
  • This ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ will reach the capital of the country, carrying soil in 7500 urns from every corner of the country.
  • ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be built near the National War Memorial by combining the soil and saplings that would arrive in the 7500 urns.
  • ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be a grand symbol of ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’.
  • By participating in the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign, the nation will also take an oath to fulfill the ‘five resolves’ or ‘Panch Prana’ for the next 25 years of Amrit Kaal.
  • Everyone will upload selfies on yuva.gov.in while taking the oath and holding the sacred soil of the country.

As per the report released by Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar, India’s tiger population is estimated to be 3925 with an annual growth rate of 6.1% per annum. The report was published on the occasion of Global Tiger Day.

ISRO sucessfully launches 7 Singaporean satellites on board PSLV-C56 rocket from Sriharikota

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) ‘s PSLV-C56 rocket successfully launched Singapore’s DS-SAR satellite and 6 co-passenger payloads from the first launch-pad of SDSC-SHAR in Sriharikota at 06:30 hrs IST.

  • PSLV-C56 / DS-SAR is the Dedicated Commercial Mission of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for ST Engineering, Singapore.
  • DS-SAR is a Radar Imaging Earth Observation satellite, is the primary satellite for the mission.
  • There are six co-passenger customer satellites also belonging to Singapore.
  • All satellites are injected into a 535 km circular with 5 orbital inclination.
  • SAR carries a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload Hoped by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
  • The co-passenger payload VELOX-AM is a microsatellite that has been developed by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, for a technology demonstration of Additive Manufacturing (AM) payloads.

India secure 7 medals on 2nd day of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China

Rifle shooter Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar and the mixed compound archery team of Aman Saini and Pragati won Gold medals for India on the 2nd day of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China yesterday. Indian shooters received gold, silver, and bronze each. Indian archers also added a Gold, Silver, and two Bronze medals to the tally, increasing it to 11.

India get 4 medals including three Gold on 2nd day at Sri Lanka Athletics National Championships

In Athletics, Indian athletes received four medals with three gold and one silver on the second day at the Sri Lanka Athletics National Championships 2023. Preeti Lamba won the gold medal in the women’s 3000 metre steeplechase and Bal Kishan won the gold in the men’s 3000 metre steeplechase final. Sonia Baishya also won gold medal in the women’s 400 metre. On the other hand, Jisna Mathew got the 2nd place in the same event. Indian athletes clinched four medals – two gold and two.
