‘City Beauty Competition’ portal launched by Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry

The Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry launched the ‘City Beauty Competition’ portal, which now has been live. Urban Local Bodies can join the competition through an online process at www.citybeautycompetition.in. ‘City Beauty Competition’ portal aims to encourage and recognize the transformational efforts made by cities and wards across the country to create beautiful, innovative and inclusive public spaces.

• The City Beauty Competition offers a unique opportunity for the wards and cities to showcase their interventions towards creating beautiful public spaces.
• wards and public spaces in cities will be judged against five broad pillars Accessibility, Amenities, Activities, Aesthetics and Ecology.
• the most beautiful wards and public spaces in the cities will be felicitated.
• The last date for participating in the Competition is 15th July 2023.

Total enrolment under Atal Pension Yojana crossed 5.20 crore mark as of 31st March 2023: Govt

The Ministry of Finance said that total enrolment under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) crossed the 5 crores 20 lakh mark as of the 31st of March 2023. The scheme enrolled more than one crore of 19 lakh new subscribers in the Financial Year 2022-23 as compared to 99 lakhs in the last financial year, depicting a growth of more than 20 per cent.

India and the United Kingdom agreed to create India-UK NET zero innovation virtual centre to provide a platform for stakeholders of both countries to work together in areas like the decarbonization of manufacturing processes, transport systems, and green hydrogen as a renewable source.

India-Korea bilateral trade to grow 17% to record $27.8 billion in 2022

The bilateral trade between India and Korea has been estimated to grow by 17.3% to $27.8 billion in 2022, as per the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). Korea’s exports to India were raised by 21 per cent to $18.9 billion, while imports raised by 10.5 per cent to $8.9 billion.
