Bhupender Yadav announces addition of 500 beds to ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad

Union Minister of Labour & Employment Bhupender Yadav announced the addition of 500 beds to the 650-bed hospital attached to the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad. ESIC aims to improve its service delivery mechanism with the help of the latest technologies.

  • Bhupender Yadav also unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda and inaugurated new services at the Bone Marrow Transplant Centre, a state-of-the-art Skill Lab; and a Gymnasium for students at the Hospital.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and I&B Minister Anurag Thakur flag off the first Delhi-Dharamshala Flight

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur flagged off the first Indigo Airline Delhi-Dharamshala-Delhi flight in New Delhi. Currently, 44 routes have been provided to the State of Himachal under the UDAN scheme, out of which 22 are already operational.

UDAN scheme

  • UDAN stands for ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik’ and is a regional connectivity scheme operated by the Government of India (GoI).
  • the scheme aims to develop smaller regional airports to allow common citizens easier access to aviation services.
  • Indian Govt acknowledged the contribution of the scheme and identified 21st October as UDAN Day, the day on which the scheme document was first released.

The National Science Centre conducted the two-day Innovation Festival in New Delhi. Innovation Festival will foster a passion and aptitude for science and technology and aims to offer a unique platform to Innovative and creative Innovators.

US President Joe Biden approved an emergency declaration for Mississippi after the state was hit by devastating storms and a tornado. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said to help rebuild the devastated state as he inspected the damage. more than 6 shelters have been opened in the state to house those displaced by the tornado.

President Droupadi Murmu will go on a two-day visit to West Bengal and President Draupadi Murmu will visit Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata to pay homage to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. She will also visit Jorasanko Thakurbari – Rabindranath Tagore’s House to pay tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

ISRO successfully launches LVM 3 -M3 rocket with 36 satellites from Sriharikota

India’s LVM 3 -M3 satellite with 36 satellites of the One Web India – 2 mission was launched from the second launch pad of the Sathish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota successfully at 9. The 43-metre-tall launch vehicle successfully achieved the three stages in the prescribed time limit including the involvement of the ignition of the cryogenic engine.

India won four gold medals in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi. Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain brought 4th gold to India and is Lovlina’s maiden gold medal at the World Championships.
