BEL inks MoU with ADA for advanced medium combat aircraft programme

Bharat Electronics signed an MoU with Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), DRDO, for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft is a 5th generation, multi-role, all-weather fighter aircraft designed with high survivability and stealth capability.

APEDA, Ministry of Commerce signed MoU with Lulu Group in Dubai

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Dubai, with Lulu Hypermarket LLC for the promotion of millets in GCC countries on February 21, 2023.

The MoU will help in facilitate promotional activities for millet products and allow the country to display millets and their value-added products, ready-to-eat products in international retail chains sourced from FPOs/FPCs/SC/ST/Women entrepreneurs/Start-ups/new entrepreneurs, and so on.

ICAR develops a new variety of wheat called HD-3385

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) developed a new wheat variety called HD-3385 which can overcome the challenges arising out due to changes in weather patterns and rising heat levels.

India and Seychelles signed an agreement on Maritime Cooperation

The Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region of India and RCOC (Regional Coordination Operations Centre), Seychelles signed a Memorandum of Understanding on maritime cooperation, aimed at improving maritime safety on the SAGAR initiative – Security and Growth for All in the Indian Ocean Region.

Seattle bans caste discrimination

Seattle has banned caste-based discrimination and becomes the first city in the US to bring in legislation. the legislation was Introduced in the Seattle City Council by member Kshama Sawant and was passed with a 6-1 vote. the new legislation prohibits “businesses from discriminating based on caste with respect to hiring, tenure, promotion, workplace conditions or wages.”

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the four-day National Horticulture Fair on Innovative Horticulture for self-reliance. the fair will showcase the latest technologies developed by the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru.

Taj Mahotsav 2023

Taj Mahotsav 2023 in Agra was started on 18th February and will continue till 27th February 2023. In 2022, the theme of the Taj Mahotsav was ‘Aazadi ke Amrit Mahotsav sang, Taj ke rang’. Aam Aadmi Party’s Shelly Oberoi won the Delhi Mayor elections and beat the nominated candidate of BJP Rekha Gupta. Shelly Oberoi received 150 votes while Rekha Gupta got 116 seats. The AAP had received 134 seats and BJP received 104 seats and Congress received 9 seats in the MCD polls.

Dmitry Dmitruk was appointed as the foreign coach of India men and women’s national boxing teams

The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has appointed Veteran boxing coach Dmitry Dmitruk as India’s foreign coach on a two-year contract. prior to this, he served as the high-performance coach in Ireland for the last 12 years. Dmitruk was known for his work with the Irish national team and its youth teams in the past.
