PM Modi to inaugurate ITU Area Office & Innovation Centre
On 22nd March 2023, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Area office and Innovation Centre in India in New Delhi. India fully funded the Area Office and is situated on the second floor of the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) building at Mehrauli in the national capital.
- PM Modi will also introduce Bharat’s 6G Vision Document and launch the 6G Research and Development Test Bed. 6G Testbed will offer academic institutions, industries, start-ups, MSMEs and industries a platform to test and validate the evolving ICT technologies.
Call Before U dig App
- Prime Minister Modi will launch Call Before U dig App, aimed at preventing damage to underlying assets like optical fibre cables, that occurs because of uncoordinated digging and excavation, leading to loss of about 3,000 crore rupees every year to the country.
Over Rs 2 lakh 41 thousand crore to over 11 crore farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme
Govt of India disbursed over two lakh 41 thousand crore rupees to over 11 crore farmers in the country under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM-KISAN. PM-KISAN is a flagship scheme of the Centre and one of the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer Schemes. the funds under PM-KISAN help farmers with agricultural needs, and other expenses such as education, medical and marriage.

Over two lakh farmers benefitted from PM- KUSUM scheme
2,00,000 farmers have benefitted from PM- KUSUM scheme. in 2019, the scheme was started for the de-dieselisation of the farm sector, providing water and energy security to farmers, increasing the income of farmers and curbing environmental pollution. Under PM-KUSUM Scheme, individual farmers or a group of farmers or cooperatives or panchayats can install solar power plants up to 2 Megawatt capacity on land. Farmers can also install standalone solar pumps or solarize their existing grid-connected agriculture pumps.

In Nepal, newly elected Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav took the oath of office and assumed charge in a special ceremony in Kathmandu. The oath was administered by President Ram Chandra Paudel. President Droupadi Murmu to confer Padma Awards for year 2023 in Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 22
President Droupadi Murmu will present Padma Awards for the year 2023, at a Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 22nd March 2023. Of the 106 Padma awards that were announced, 6 are Padma Vibhushan, 9 are Padma Bhushan and 91 are Padma Shri. 19 of the awardees are women. Oral Rehydration Solution, ORS pioneer Dilip Mahalanobis will be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan posthumously in the field of Medicine (Pediatrics).
- Former Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will be conferred with Padma Vibhushan posthumously in the field of public affairs.
- Tabla Mestro Zakir Hussain will also be conferred Padma Vibhushan.
- Padma Bhushan winners will include Kannada novelist and screenwriter S L Bhyrappa, Industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla and Author and Philanthropist Sudha Murthy.
ISRO to launch OneWeb India-2 mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota
The Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO is going to launch the OneWeb India-2 mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on March 26th, 2023. NewSpace India Limited, ISRO will launch 72 satellites of the UK-based Network Access Associates Limited and place them in low Earth orbits.
- NewSpace is the commercial wing of ISRO. The first set of 36 satellites was launched on October 23rd, 2022 by the LVM3 M2 launch vehicle.
- In the second mission on March 26th, 2023, the remaining 36 satellites weighing about 5805 kgs will be established in 450 km circular low Earth orbit by LVM3 M3 launch vehicle.
Women’s Premier League: Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets
In Women’s Premier League Cricket, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 4 wickets at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. RCB scored 125 for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, MI achieved the target while 21 balls remained.
Bihar celebrates 111th foundation day

World Water Day 2023
