49th Khajuraho Dance Festival in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel will inaugurate the ‘Khajuraho Dance Festival-2023’ on 20th February 2023. The festival will conclude on 26 February. Ustad Alladin Khan Music and Arts Academy, Tourism Department, Archaeological Survey of India, World Dance Alliance and Chhatarpur District Administration jointly conducted the festival.

• The first meeting of the Culture Working Group under the chairmanship of India in G-20 will be held in Khajuraho from February 23 to 25.

First State-Level ‘Shrimp Mela’ by Punjab Government

Punjab Government conducted its first state-level ‘Prawn Fair’ (Shrimp mela) held at the farmers’ training centre at Enakhera village. “Prawn Fair” or Shrimp mela aims to create awareness about shrimp farming. Shrimp farming is an aquaculture-based activity in marine or freshwater to produce shrimp for human consumption.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the Foundation Stone of the world’s largest and unique Divyang Park – Anubhuti Inclusive Park in Nagpur, Maharashtra, will show empathy, hence this park has been named Anubhuti Divyang Park.

• It will include facilities such as a touch-and-smell garden, hydrotherapy unit, water therapy, and an independent room for mentally challenged children, and mothers.

18th edition of World Security Congress

International Union of Railways (UIC) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) will conduct the 18th World Security Congress in Jaipur from 21st to 23rd February 2023. the theme will be “Railway Security Strategy: Responses and Vision for Future”.

• Prior to this, RPF India had successfully organized and hosted the International UIC World Security Congress in New Delhi in 2015 and 2016.

India-Uzbekistan biennial military training Exercise DUSTLIK 2023 in Uttarakhand

4th edition of the biennial training Exercise DUSTLIK (2023) between the Indian Army and Uzbekistan Army will be conducted from 21st February to 5th March 2023 in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, aimed at enhancing military capability to undertake multi-domain operations in a Sub Conventional scenario under United Nations Mandate.

• 14th Battalion, The GARHWAL RIFLES will represent the Indian contingent and The Uzbekistan Army will be represented by troops of the North Western Military District of Uzbekistan Army.

Indian-origin Meghana Pandit named CEO of Oxford University Hospitals

Professor Meghana Pandit has been appointed the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals and becomes the trust’s first female chief.

• She is also the first person of Indian heritage to be appointed CEO of any National Health Service (NHS) trust in the Shelford Group.
• Pandit served as the interim CEO at Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) since July 2022.
• She is an Honorary Professor at Warwick University and an Associate Fellow at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford.
• Pandit trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Oxford Deanery and worked as a Visiting Lecturer in Urogynaecology at the University of Michigan in the US.

India’s first hybrid rocket launched from Tamil Nadu’s Pattipulam

India’s first hybrid-sounding rocket was launched from Pattipulam village, Chengalpattu. on this occasion, the Governor of Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry were present. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation and Space Zone India launched the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission- 2023.

• The rocket will be used for research in weather, atmospheric conditions and radiation.

Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2023

The 3rd edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships was held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates between 14 and 19 February 2023. China won the gold medal and followed by South Korea won the Silver medal. India and Thailand shared 3rd place and won the Bronze medal.
