A social activist and founder of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak passed away at the age of 80 on August 15 at AIIMS in Delhi due to a heart attack. He founded Sulabh International, an international social service organization in 1970. He also conducted his major advocacy campaigns widely against “Manual Scavenging”. he received the prestigious “Padma Bhushan” in 1991.
