President of India inaugurates International Engineering and Technology Fair 2023

Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the International Engineering and Technology Fair (IETF) 2023 in New Delhi on February 16, 2023. IETF-2023 will showcase feats of engineering and technologies that promote harmony between nature and science. PM Modi to address Economic Times Global Business Summit on 17th February

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is going to address the Economic Times Global Business Summit on 17th February at Hotel Taj Palace in Delhi. The theme of the Global Business Summit 2023 is “Resilience. Influence. Dominance”. The two-day Summit will be held for two days between 17 and 18 February.

  • The Global Business Summit is hosted annually by The Times Group. It aims to bring together thought leaders, policymakers, academicians and corporate heads on a common platform, seeking to provide solutions to key economic challenges.

PM Modi addresses launch of ‘Jal-Jan Abhiyan’

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Jal-Jan Abhiyan’ of Brahma Kumaris via video message when water scarcity is being seen as a future crisis all over the world. Jal-Jan Abhiyan of Brahma Kumaris will provide new strength to this effort of public participation. the reach of water conservation campaigns will also get a boost thereby boosting its effect.

300 Million Ton Annual Steel Production by 2030

Union Minister of Steel and Civil Aviation Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that India will have 300 Million Ton Annual Steel Production by 2030. India is the 4th largest producer of Zinc in the world and 80% of Zinc produced in India is consumed domestically.

  • India becomes the 2nd largest steel producer in the world.

Kishan Reddy launches ‘Best Tourism Village Competition Portal’

G. Kishan Reddy launched a unique initiative ‘Best Tourism Village Competition Portal’ and Rural Tourism Portal to promote tourism in India. The Global Tourism Investor Summit 2023 portal was also launched on the occasion.

  • 1st Global Tourism Investors’ Summit will be conducted by the Ministry of Tourism between 17th May and 19th May 2023, aimed at showing investible projects and opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector in India to domestic and international investors.

Shri Bhupender Yadav announces the translocation of twelve Cheetahs from South Africa to India

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate change, Shri Bhupender Yadav announced the translocation of twelve Cheetahs from South Africa to India on 18th February 2023. The Cheetahs will be translocated to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

  • The Cheetah introduction project in India aims to set up viable cheetah metapopulation in India to allow the cheetah to perform its functional role as a top predator.
  • It will also provide space for the expansion of the cheetah within its historic range thereby contributing to its global conservation efforts.

Three-day National Workshop on Localization of (LSDGs) in Panchayats begins in Bhubaneswar

Ministry of Panchayat Raj (MoPR) and Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha and State Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR), Odisha will conduct the National Workshop on Localization of Sustainable Development Goals in Gram Panchayats. the theme of the National Workshop on Localization of (LSDGs) will be Theme 3: Child-Friendly Village and Theme 9: Women-Friendly Village.

  • It will be held from 17 to 19 February 2023 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Indian-American Neal Mohan to be new CEO of YouTube after Wojcicki resigns

An Indian-American Neal Mohan will be the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YouTube after announcing her resignation by Susan Wojcicki due to personal reasons. At present, Neal Mohan is serving as the Chief Product Officer of YouTube. Mohan was the Senior Vice President, Display and Video Ads at Google.

G. Kishan Reddy presents Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2019, 2020 and 2021 to102 artists

The Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and DoNER, Shri G. Kishan Reddy presented the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (UBKYP) 2019, 2020 and 2021, at Meghdoot Theatre Complex, Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi on 15th February 2023. The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar carries a purse money of Rs 25,000/- (Rupees twenty-five thousand only), an Angavastram and a plaque.

  • A four-day festival of music, dance and drama is being held from 14-17 February 2023 featuring the recipients of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the year 2019.
  • The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar is presented to artists up to the age of 40 years.
  • The award was introduced in 2006 to identify and encourage outstanding young talents in diverse fields of the performing arts and give them national recognition early in their life.

“EX DHARMA GUARDIAN”, between India and Japan

The 4th edition of a joint military exercise called “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN”, between India and Japan will be held at Camp Imazu in Shiga province, Japan from 17 February to 02 March 2023. DHARMA GUARDIAN Exercise is an annual training event for India and Japan in terms of security challenges faced by both nations in the backdrop of the current global situation.

  • “Exercise Dharma Guardian” will enhance the level of defence co-operation between the Indian Army and the Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces, and will also further the bilateral relations between the two nations.
